The
Best Care Comes to the Emerald Coast
From
high-tech diagnostic and treatment services to outreach programs
that serve families in need, Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald
Coast brings Sacred Heart’s spirit of quality care and compassion
to families from all walks of life in Walton County. SHHEC’s
healthcare professionals are committed to the highest level of
patient care, reflected in patient satisfaction rates that consistently
score over 93 percent.
Located just east of Destin at the intersection of Highway 98
and Mack Bayou Road, SHHEC is a not-for-profit hospital built
largely by the community and designed for the community it serves,
born in the same manner that Sacred Heart was in Pensacola –
in the hearts of the community’s citizens and the product
of great generosity. The St. Joe Company donated 40 acres and
construction began on the 50-bed hospital in 2000.
Since opening its doors in January 2003, the $55-million hospital
has grown steadily and continues its investment in the community.
Today, SHHEC has more than 130 physicians on staff, more than
300 associates and more than 400 community volunteers. This dedicated
Sacred Heart family continues to fulfill its mission of care and
service. In the past nearly three years of service, SHHEC has
experienced a significant amount of growth, from doubling the
size of its Emergency Department to opening an outpatient cancer
center providing radiation therapy. Sophisticated imaging services,
nuclear medicine capabilities, and high-tech cardiac procedures
are the best tools in the best hands for patient care.
The future will soon bring a Women’s Diagnostic and Wellness
Center and a birthing center to the hospital campus, thanks once
again to the generosity of our community on the Emerald Coast.
