High-Risk Pregnancy
Most pregnancies and deliveries go as planned, with few complications and mother and baby going home within two days.
But sometimes, the unexpected happens.
From high-risk pregnancies or unanticipated complications during delivery, to experienced care for premature and sick newborns, Sacred Heart Women’s Hospital is ready for the unexpected.
Sacred Heart is the area’s only Regional Perinatal Center – one of only 11 in the state – and offers the only center designed for infants and women with high-risk pregnancies in Northwest Florida.
Our highly experienced team Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians, nurses and staff is dedicated to providing life-saving care to women who are at risk for complications during pregnancy or whose unborn children are not developing correctly.
Our facilities also include the region’s only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for the care of critically ill and premature newborns. If complications occur during your delivery, one of Sacred Heart’s neonatologists is just moments away. This physician specialist can be summoned to your baby’s side immediately, day or night.
The NICU is located on the same floor as Labor and Delivery, so you’ll have the comfort of knowing that your baby is just across the hall from your hospital room.
More than likely, you won’t need some of these services, but you will have the peace of mind knowing that they’re here for you when you need them most.
