Sacred Heart Hospital’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation program is dedicated to helping our patients breathe easier through our comprehensive exercise program.
Our physician-prescribed, structured program is specially designed to improve the breathing capacity of patients with breathing disabilities.
Our Program
The Pulmonary Rehabilitation program consists of exercise, education and counseling sessions that are tailored to fit each patient’s unique needs.
At Sacred Heart, our team specializes in the treatment of many breathing disabilities including:
• Asthma
• Emphysema
• Chronic Bronchitis
• Cystic Fibrosis
• Sarcoidosis
• And many other restrictive lung diseases
Our education program covers a variety of topics, including normal and abnormal disease function, disease management, medications, benefits of exercise, and relaxation techniques.
In addition to our education and exercise programs, Sacred Heart Pulmonary Rehabilitation also offers a maintenance program to help our patients continue to heal after they have completed our program.
Our Rehabilitation Team
At Sacred Heart, you can expect to find the mostly highly-trained, comprehensive care team to help you breathe easier.
Our dedicated rehabilitation team consists of respiratory therapists, nurses, and fitness specialists who are all specially trained in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
They work closely with both you and your personal physician to ensure a safe and effective plan of care. This open communication allows us to relay your physician any exercise problems you may encounter to help us find the treatment plan that works best for you.

Our program accepts patients by referral only. Please consult your primary care physician or your pulmonologist to decide if this program is right for you.
