Your Hospital Bill

We are committed to a fair billing system and will continue to monitor our policies and procedures to ensure that all patients are treated with dignity and respect.
Billing
Insurance information is obtained from you or your representative prior to or at the time of admission service. Sacred Heart will file claim(s) on your behalf based on the insurance information you provided and the benefits you assigned to the hospital as part of the financial agreement you signed at the time of service. If that information was not accurate or was not provided, please contact a representative from Sacred Heart’s Patient Accounts department immediately at (850) 416-7190 to provide the correct information. A summary and itemized statement of your charges will be mailed to you at any time upon request. Your insurance(s) should pay your claims according to your policy benefit plan. (Questions concerning payments should be addressed to your insurance company representative.) Any non-covered charges and/or cost share, including co pays or deductibles, will be billed to you if they remain outstanding after your insurance(s) pay their portion.
Your hospital bill does not include the fees of your physician(s) or consulting physician(s). Fees for professional services rendered to you by ambulance services, radiologists, pathologists, cardiologists, anesthesiologists or neonatologists are also not included on your hospital bill. Fees for these professional services are billed directly by the physician(s) providing the service(s).
Financial Arrangements
Financial arrangements for payment are required at time of service. If your insurance policy does not cover all charges or if you anticipate difficulty paying your hospital bill, call Patient Accounts at (850) 416-7190 or call toll-free at 1-866-869-9677. One of our Patient Account Representatives will be happy to assist you with financial arrangements.
