Pediatric Surgery: Big Decisions. Little Incisions.

When your child requires surgery, you want to be certain that you are receiving the most advanced care possible from the most experienced medical team.

At The Children’s Hospital, we understand that children aren’t just small adults, and their needs are very different from adult patients. We are proud to offer the only pediatric surgical program in Northwest Florida, staffed with a board-certified pediatric surgeon and pediatric neurosurgeon. We specialize in surgical services for children all ages, as well as prenatal consultations for babies still in their mother’s womb.

Why Choose a Pediatric Surgeon?

A pediatric surgeon is a general surgeon who has spent additional time training to care for infants and children. In addition to five years of general surgical training and one to two years of research, a pediatric surgeon receives an additional two years of full-time clinical training in the surgical evaluation and management of infants and children. When you choose a pediatric specialist, you can trust that he or she understands the very specific needs of a child before, during and after treatment.

Why Choose The Children's Hospital?

In addition to our board-certified pediatric surgeon and neurosurgeon, The Children's Hospital offers an entire team especially trained to care for children, including:

  • Pediatric radiologists
  • Pediatric anesthesiologists
  • Pediatric respiratory therapists
  • Pediatric physical, speech and occupational therapists
  • Pediatric dietary services
  • Pediatric social services
  • Child life program
  • Medical staff of more than 100 board-certified pediatric physicians across 28 specialties
