Facilities and Services
Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital is dedicated to providing quality, compassionate care in a kid-friendly environment to our youngest patients. Our infant-toddler unit features 19 beds for infants and toddlers up to the age of four, while our school-age & adolescent unit has 20 beds for children from ages 5 to 17. Our rooms are designed with children in mind, with colorful paintings and soothing colors on the walls and furniture. In addition, our infant rooms feature a special crib for your child to rest and heal, with special safety features to make sure he or she is safe and secure at all times.
Providing for Parents & Family Children's Hospital recognizes that when children are hospitalized, family members want to stay with them as much as possible. Parents who choose to spend the night can enjoy sofa loungers which expand into sleepers. Family members also enjoy conveniences such as refrigerators, microwaves and coffee makers. A family resource area offers educational materials, parents’ lounges, and a washer and dryer for family use.
Visiting Hours and Guidelines At Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital, we encourage parents to visit with their children as much as possible to provide comfort and aid in the healing process.
Regular visiting hours for the general public are: 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
We ask that no more than two visitors be present at a time for the safety and comfort of our other patients. In addition, children under the age of 12 are asked to refrain from visiting for long periods of time. Children under 12 are allowed to make short visits by appointment as long as they are accompanied by an adult at all times.
In addition, there is a special Quiet Time from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. every day to encourage rest and recovery. We ask that all of our visitors and patients keep the noise level and number of visitors to a minimum during this time.
A Place for Fun & Play At Sacred Heart, we realize that our young patients need a safe place to play to take their minds off their hospitalization. Our floor features two special playrooms just for our youngest patients, with games and toys that focus on art and imaginative play. For our older patients, we have a dedicated activity room with computers, video games, and a big screen TV.We also have age-appropriate movies and video games that can be checked out from our Child Life Program. In addition, our young patients are also treated to special movie and game nights by local community organizations, and local celebrity visitors might drop by to provide entertainment for the whole family.
