Big Decisions. Little Incisions.
Pediatric Surgery at Sacred Heart

When your child requires surgery, you want to be certain that you are receiving the most advanced care possible from the most experienced medical team.

At The Children’s Hospital, we understand that children aren’t just small adults, and they have very different needs and problems than adult patients. We are proud to offer the only pediatric surgical program in Northwest Florida, staffed with board certified pediatric surgeons.  We specialize in surgical services for children all ages, as well as prenatal consultations for babies still in their mother’s womb.

Our program combines experience with compassion to provide high-quality surgical services in a child-friendly, family-centered environment. Our team works closely with other pediatric experts, like pediatric anesthesiologists, who are specifically trained to care for children

Why Choose a Pediatric Surgeon?

A pediatric surgeon is a general surgeon who has spent additional time training to care for infants and children with surgical problems. In addition to five years of general surgical training and one to two years of research, a pediatric surgeon receives an additional two years of full-time clinical training in the surgical evaluation and management of infants and children. When you choose a pediatric specialist, you can trust that he or she understands the very specific needs of a child before, during, and after treatment.
