Pharmacy Assistance Program
If you cannot afford medicines prescribed by your physician, MyGulfCare may be able to help. Many medications for diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, and other chronic diseases are available from pharmaceutical companies for free or very low cost to low income patients. Our Pharmacy Assistance Coordinator can help you apply for this benefit. Proof of income, such as your latest tax return, and a prescription from your physician are required. This program does not cover short-term medications such as antibiotics.
This program is located at the Florida Department of Health in Gulf County. Call 850.227.1276 ext 132 to see if your medication is available through this program and to see if you meet the financial requirements for assistance.
In addition to free and low cost medications for chronic conditions, several area pharmacies offer some prescription medicines at a lower cost. A brochure is available at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Gulf, the Florida Department of Health in Gulf County, and local pharmacies that list the pharmacies participating in this program.
