I Thought I Had Heard My Last Hound Dog Bark!
When 61-year-old DeFuniak Springs resident Jerry Darby arrived at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola with severe chest pain, he wasn’t sure what was going to happen. An avid fisherman and hunter who raises hunting dogs, Jerry says, “I thought I had heard my last hound dog bark.”

I've Told God I Want to Go in a Heartbeat...I Almost Got My Wish
Bob Dodd, a 72-year-old DeFuniak Springs resident, began feeling a heaviness in his chest while he and his wife were driving to Pensacola for a doctor’s appointment. Upon arrival in Pensacola, he was rushed by ambulance to the Sacred Heart Chest Pain Center. EMS and emergency staff quickly diagnosed a massive heart attack and he was immediately taken to the cardiac cath lab.

The Shock of His Life
Leo Griffith, 75, is grateful for Dr. Grise’s experience with the Impella device. He was in a casino in Atmore, Ala. when he suffered a heart attack and fell to the floor. During an ambulance ride to the local hospital, Leo’s heart stopped beating and the ambulance crew had to shock his chest to revive him.
