Sacred Heart Hospital’s Vascular Interventional Center offers a variety of minimally invasive services as an alternative to major surgery to help you get back to a normal life quicker and with less pain.
Using X-rays, CTs, ultrasound and other imaging techniques, our interventional radiologists guide small instruments (like a wire or catheter) into major blood vessels to access and treat a variety of diseases. Once the catheter is advanced into place, tiny devices such as stents and balloons can be used to treat vascular diseases such as aneurysms, blood clots and narrowed arteries.
These techniques require smaller incisions and only local anesthesia, which means less pain, a quicker recovery time, and less risk to our patients. In addition, interventional radiology procedures are generally less expensive than many surgical treatments.
In addition, we are proud to be a member of the National Coronary Disease Registry to ensure that we provide quality outcomes for all of our patients.
