During September, Sacred Heart Health System will provide free heart-health screenings at locations in the Pensacola area for adults who are poor, elderly or uninsured. Heart-health screenings will measure blood pressure, blood sugar and total cholesterol, and can detect anemia. The screenings are helpful in diagnosing conditions that put people at high risk for heart attack, stroke, diabetes and other health problems.
In addition, during September, Sacred Heart will be providing several free hearing and vision screenings for students enrolled in Head Start programs at schools in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Screenings for students will be held at the schools.
Following is the September schedule for adult screenings:
• Sept. 24 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 2601 W. Strong St., Pensacola.
• Sept. 29 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit, 10650 Gulf Beach Hwy., Pensacola.
