To earn this certification, Dr. Chomiak was nominated by the Sacred Heart Cancer Center, underwent a thorough review and was then presented to the MD Anderson Physicians Network Credentials Committee.

MD Anderson Cancer Network is a quality-management and best-practices organization with the goal of improving cancer care by providing world-class, MD Anderson-level oncology services to local hospitals in the United States. This network of providers follows MD Anderson Cancer Center clinical guidelines, which includes an integrated approach to education, prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.

Because of the excellent cancer care provided at Sacred Heart, the hospital was selected in 2006 for an affiliation with MD Anderson Cancer Network. MD Anderson Cancer Network is a program of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, a research driven institute that is ranked by U.S. News and World Report as one of the nation's top cancer treatment centers. As a result of this affiliation, Sacred Heart cancer patients are treated according to the latest clinical care guidelines developed by teams of specialists at MD Anderson Cancer Network. Since the start of this partnership in 2006, the Sacred Heart Cancer Center has undergone continuous and rigorous review of its standards and practices to ensure it meets the high standards of care of MD Anderson Cancer Network. In 2014, Sacred Heart Cancer Center also entered into a research affiliation with MD Anderson Cancer Network in order to bring the network’s clinical trials to the Pensacola region.
