Inpatient Care
St. Catherine's Unit
Long known for its quality care and true compassion, the St. Catherine's Unit in Sacred Heart Hospital is designated for inpatient care of cancer patients. St. Catherine's is a 39-bed unit which features all private rooms complete with private baths.
The unit receives daily recognition of its commitment in the form of personal thanks from patients and their families, cards, letters, gifts and, very often, lasting friendships with former patients.
Palliative Care (End-of-Life Care)
Palliative or end-of-life care provided at Sacred Heart promotes the relief of suffering through a comprehensive team approach to the physical, psychological, spiritual and practical needs of terminally ill patients and those close to them. Palliative care is special care given to patients with progressive and advanced disease (of any kind as well as cancer), where prognosis for survival is limited.
