Sacred Heart Hospital Cancer Research
Sacred Heart Hospital's Cancer Center is currently participating in a number of research studies, also known as clinical trials. These studies involve treatments for breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and prostate cancer.
One newer trial is enrolling patients with Hormone Refractory Prostate Cancer in order to evaluate a new oral chemotherapy treatment.
Enrollment has also started in a Breast Cancer trial for patients who have recently been diagnosed with Breast Cancer and have not yet begun treatment. This study is using a special test on a piece of a patient's tumor to help determine whether or not treatment with chemotherapy or radiation therapy will be effective against this type of cancer.
Sacred Heart also anticipates enrolling patients for other studies involving possible treatments for lung cancer, colon cancer and lymphoma.
