Mother & Daughter Seminar Discusses Values and Becoming A Woman
Sacred Heart to Host Mother-Daughter Talk on Values and Sexuality
PENSACOLA, Fla. – Sacred Heart Women’s Hospital will host a mother-daughter program, titled, “Teaching the Values,” on Sunday, Oct. 22 in the Greenhut Auditorium on Sacred Heart’s main campus. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m., followed by the program from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
The program, co-sponsored by the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee, is for girls ages 9-12 and their mothers. The seminar will explore God’s gift of fertility and the wonder of becoming a woman.
The program will feature a panel of speakers discussing topics that include physical and emotional changes, menstrual periods, the functions of the female reproductive system, the consequences of sexual activity, the sacredness of human life, and the virtue of chastity. In addition, there will be a presentation on effective communication between mothers and daughters. Featured speakers include:
• Louise Ritz, Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee; moderator • Vicky Bell, natural family planner, on “It’s Great to Be a Girl”
• Dr. William Lile, Jr., OB/GYN, Sacred Heart Medical Group, on “Understanding the Fertility Cycle”
• Kerry Sise, child specialist; “Communication Between Mothers and Daughters.”
After the presentations, attendees will be able to ask questions of each presenter. Cost is $10 per family, and light refreshments will be served. Registration is limited and reservations are required.
