Sacred Heart Offers Free Screenings to Needy, Elderly, and Uninsured
Sacred Heart Health System’s mobile health unit will provide free health screenings in October at sites in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Sacred Heart’s Mission in Motion program targets persons who are poor, uninsured, or elderly.
The mobile unit will provide blood screenings to measure blood pressure, blood sugar, total cholesterol and blood count. At the Oct. 5 site, the screening will be for osteoporosis.
The upcoming schedule for Mission in Motion is as follows:
• Tuesday, Oct. 10 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Felix Miga Seniors Center, 904 N 57th Ave. • Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Byrneville Senior Center, 1725 Hwy 4-A, Century.
• Friday, Oct. 13 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Waterfront Rescue Mission Bargain Store, 2125 Fairfield Drive, Pensacola.
• Tuesday, Oct. 17 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Locklin Votech, 5330 Berryhill Road. Milton.
• Thursday, Oct. 19 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Century Council on Aging, 6025 Industrial Blvd, Century. • Friday, Oct. 20 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 6457 Park Ave, Milton.
• Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Cantonment Council on Aging, 132 Mintz Lane.
• Wednesday, Oct. 25 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Jay Community Center, 5259 Booker Lane, Jay.
• Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Make a Difference Day-Family Day Out at the Milton Community Center, 5629 Byrom St.
• Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Waterfront Rescue Mission Bargain Store, 4467 Avalon Blvd, Milton.
Mission in Motion is a community service of Sacred Heart Health System, celebrating 90 years of service to Northwest Florida. The mobile unit is funded by Sacred Heart Health System and staffed by nurses and a driver.
