Education is the key to successfully managing diabetes. People who have been diagnosed with diabetes are encouraged to participate in Sacred Heart Hospital's series of diabetes education classes, "Diabetes Made Simple."
Participants may choose from three different options:
Two daytime classes that meet on Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A total of four evening classes that meet from 5 to 8:30 p.m. (New evening class sessions begin every six weeks.)
One-on-one sessions are scheduled for a particular need, such as instruction on how to prepare and give insulin
In addition, Sacred Heart offers a "Diabetes in Pregnancy" class on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Classes are conveniently located on the first floor of Sacred Heart Hospital in the Traditions classroom. Free valet parking is available at Sacred Heart's main entrance on Ninth Avenue. To sign up, participants must have a physician referral. For more information, please call (850) 416-7261.
