Biggest Supporter of Children’s Hospital to be Honored
Local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Employees Give Over $2.2 Million in 18 Years
Who are the biggest supporters of Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital? The answer is, Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club. On Thursday, February 21, Sacred Heart Foundation will salute 21 Northwest Florida Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores for their extraordinary fundraising efforts for Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital in 2007.
(Representatives of the media are invited to the program; however, this program is not open to the public.)
The top three Wal-Mart stores and the top Sam’s Club store will be honored with awards for their outstanding efforts. The recognition luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. and will take place at Sacred Heart Hospital in the Greenhut Auditorium. This year’s festivities will have a birthday theme in honor of the 90th Anniversary of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton’s birthday.
Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores raised a total of $220,075 in 2007 for Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital. Stores cover a geographical area that includes Pensacola, Fort Walton Beach, Panama City, Chipley, and as far away as Marianna.
