Florida State University's Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) will conduct a free screening for autism on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Sacred Heart Hospital's Conference Center on Ninth Avenue in Pensacola.
Autism is a developmental disability that affects one's ability to properly understand and process what they see, hear, and otherwise sense. It mainly affects communication and social skills. It is considered the nation's fastest growing developmental disability.
Children ages 18-24 months are eligible for the screening. No physician referral is needed. Appointments must be scheduled in advance.
