Sacred Heart Honors Recipient of First Florence Nightingale Award

Linda Womack, RN, of Sacred Heart Women's Hospital's Seton Hall is the first recipient of Sacred Heart Health System's Florence Nightingale Award. The Florence Nightingale Award recognizes a nurse who best exemplifies Florence Nightingale's attributes of devoted service and compassion.

Womack, a 32-year veteran of Sacred Heart, is always professional and is someone who never says "no;" she says "why not," according to a co-worker. As a true bedside nurse, Womack "exudes what a nurse should be."

The award was given in conjunction with National Nurses' Week. Several outstanding nurses were honored during a reception and awards ceremony in May. To be eligible for the award, one must be an RN or LPN, have 15 years of beside nursing experience at Sacred Heart and be a staff-level inpatient nurse giving direct patient care.
