Sacred Heart Hospital's SENIORSpirit! program will present a free seminar on seniors and depression on Wednesday, June 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Dudley Greenhut Auditorium on Sacred Heart's main campus.
The seminar will be presented by Dr. Michelle Brandhorst, board-certified family medicine physician with Sacred Heart Medical Group. The seminar will cover the signs and symptoms depression as well as coping strategies and medical treatments.
Symptoms of depression can begin at any age and for no apparent reason. For many seniors, however, the symptoms of depression often go unrecognized. Some may attribute their feelings to "old age," while others may not realize that new medications can cause emotional changes.
As seating is limited, pre-registration is encouraged. To register, please call (850) 416-1620 or 1-877-416-1620.
