Crestview, Fla. -- Pediatrician Dr. Scott Wakefield has joined Sacred Heart Medical Group’s regional physician network. Dr. Wakefield will practice at Sacred Heart Medical Group Pediatrics at Crestview, located at 332 Medcrest Drive.
Dr. Wakefield is accepting new patients, newborns through age 18. He joins the office of Sacred Heart Medical Group pediatricians Dr. Jennifer Heegard and Dr. Rebecca Susong, as well as nurse practitioners Emily Lieser and Lindsey Mann-Badyrka. Dr. Wakefield graduated from the University of Alabama with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biology along with a master’s degree in human environmental services with a focus on public health. He received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Dr. Wakefield performed his residency training in pediatrics through the University of Florida College of Medicine at The Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart in Pensacola. During residency, he was recognized for his performance in outpatient pediatrics practice, and he was selected by the nursing staff to receive the Sister Mary Catherine Award.
Dr. Wakefield comes to Sacred Heart from Putnam County Medical Center in Palatka, Florida. He enjoys general pediatrics and has special interests in preventive healthcare, genetics, infectious diseases and newborn care.
